QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid State of Ohio Teaching License
2. Bachelor's degree in teaching or relevant field
3. In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures
4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
5. Effective interpersonal and presentation skills
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Pay and benefits provided according to the Teacher’s Negotiated Agreement.
JOB GOAL: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Participate in curriculum review and design.
- Implement approved district curriculum.

Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives

Diagnose and evaluates student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.

Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Deliver personalized instruction to each student by encouraging interactive learning.

Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.

Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.

Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, provide feedback and progress reports as required.

Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District.
- Communicate with parents. Respond to parent questions, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences.

Effectively implement district initiatives.

Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.

Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.

Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Ensure the safety of students by maintaining a safe learning environments.

Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.

Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
